seattle family photographer • a visit home
I’ve just returned home from a trip back to Tampa. What an AMAZING non-stop weekend it was too! I had the pleasure and privilege of co-teaching with my dear friend, Stacy Larsen at the first LAUNCH photography workshop. The women, who attended, were incredible!! Their love for photography and their passion to learn was so evident. Seriously, these girls SHINED!! I’m looking forward to seeing where their photography journeys take them and I’m truly honored to be a part of it.
Stacy has just announced the dates for the next workshop, the weekend of June 19th in Seattle, WA! Registration opens on the LAUNCH website on March 8th (mark your calendars now). I have loved, loved, loved being a part of the first workshop, but because of the incredible amount of time that goes into planning and teaching a workshop, I won’t be continuing on. It’s obvious to me that my focus needs to be on my family and my photography business. I have a whole new city to emerge myself in and now is the time! Although, I won’t be involved with the workshop in a teaching capacity, I truly believe in the workshop and I support Stacy 100%. So, if you are wanting to start a photography business, this is the workshop for you!!
I thought I’d share a few images from the workshop. Seeing the images makes me miss these girls already! Big hugs to the LAUNCH crew!!
Be on the look out for sneak peeks from my Tampa sessions and details for my Spring Mini Sessions in Tampa this April.

seattle family photographer • a little travel note
Well, I am heading out soon for an exciting work trip. I’m looking forward to meeting some amazing families and seeing some old wonderful friends. I will be out of the office from Friday, February 19th to Monday, February 22nd with little to no contact via email. I will begin returning emails and phone calls on Tuesday, February 23rd.
Also, just a quick “thank you” to those who have already contacted me about my Tampa Spring Mini Sessions in April. Information is coming soon, very soon… be on the look out March 1st for session details!
And, because a post would be oh-so-boring without a few images to share, I thought I’d include a couple of my very favorite silly guys, who make me laugh so hard (I already miss them and I haven’t even left yet). Oh, and if you are wondering about the gold chain, it’s a Tampa Gasparilla thing (we are pirates at heart–Arrrrr!).
I hope everyone is blessed with some lovely weather this weekend (and if not, then I hope you’re snuggled up by a cozy fire)!!
xoxo,
Kristie
seattle family photographer • we HEART our converse
Everyone in the family has a pair (minus the Quigster). And, what’s under our converse?
Our Valentine’s Day socks of course (yes, I know, pink socks on boys, trust me, it was a hard sale)!!
Me: What is love?
A: It’s when you SUPER, SUPER, SUPER, SUUUUUUUUUUPER like someone (blushing).
Me: How do you know when you love someone?
M: You know, you feel it in your heart, Mom (blushing).
Wishing everyone a Valentine’s day surrounded by the people that you super, super, super, suuuuuuuper like and a heart filled with love!!

seattle family photographer • my funny valentines
It was one of those days that you drive to school to pick up your kiddos, forget that you drove and start walking home only to be reminded by one of the kiddos (when you’re half way home) that you actually drove! Yes that was me today, but thankfully it was a gorgeous sunny day, which made it very easy to laugh it off.
Lucky for me, I had my camera in my bag and lucky for my twins, I had some vanilla wafers in there too! My boys will definitely work for cookies (hence the camera and cookies in my bag). So, we had an impromptu funny valentine photo shoot. I thought I’d share some of their valentine cards that they’ve been working on over the last couple of weeks for their friends at school and our friends and family back home as well. Our house is covered in a layer of glitter–Tinker Bell would definitely feel at home!!
Wishing everyone a lovely week!
xoxo,
Kristie
PS- the bumblebee card was inspired by a card kit at Paper Source. I just checked and they appear to be sold out.
seattle family photographer • snow day
It seems like we’re having a mild winter here in Seattle (so I’ve been told), so a big “thank you” to mother nature for breaking this Florida family in nice and easy. Other than just a few flurries one Sunday morning, we haven’t seen snow here at the house, but only an hours drive away, there is SNOW and LOTS of it. We LOVE the snow! Well, playing in it, that is, not so sure about driving in it or living in it day in and day out for months on end. But, the snow is truly magical. We’ve been making it a point to have at least one fun day in the snow every month. Oh, and the BEST money that we’ve spent in a looooooong time (other than the banana walnut bread that I’m obsessed with at Tulley’s) was the $5 we spent at Target for some fun super snow saucers! FUN! FUN! FUN!
I looooooove the wonderment in A’s eyes. He was watching his first snowball fight in person (we had one of our own today–it was so much FUN!!).
I like to turn the camera on my hubby every once in awhile. I want the boys to have lots of images of their mommy and daddy to look back on (so they can make fun of our clothes and hair twenty years down the road. Ha!).
Whether you’re in shorts or a snow suit, I hope you’re enjoying the Winter!
