3 wishes…

There are times where my twin boys just blow me away with their compassion and thoughtfulness (makes me forget for a moment or two the WWF smackdown that just happened five minutes prior – hahahaha). Well, this week at dinner, we had one of those moments… I like to ask them random questions, so I had them pretend that they had just discovered a magic lamp. A genie appears, of course, when the lamp is rubbed and grants them three wishes each. So, I ask them what they’d wish for (now, I am totally expecting to hear the following… Star Wars anything, Wall-E everything, etc.). We go around the table, M. goes first and wish #1 is for his beautiful family to be happy (I’m stunned and teary eyed), wish #2 is to be healthy (still stunned) and wish #3 is to have a grateful life (is this my little boy who has a bad case of the Christmas gimmes?). A’s turn… wish #1 is to have more food for he and his brother and all the kids in the world (more tears), wish #2 is enough plates to put all the food on (makes sense – heehee) and wish #3 is that all animals have homes (ummm, waterworks). I had to dry my eyes and think quick because the 1st wish on my list was going to be for this fabulous lens that I’ve had my eyes on. Ha-Ha!

Well, in the spirit of their 3 wishes, we visited Metropolitan Ministries today and donated food and household items. What an emotional experience it was too! It’s an amazing organization that has served poor and homeless men, women and children for over 35 years in the Tampa area. Their services touch 100-150 families daily through their Outreach and Prevention programs. There are so many ways to get involved from donating food to donating your time. If you are local, I encourage you to take a look at their website and see how you might give a little HOPE to those in need this holiday season. Every little bit makes a difference!!

growing family

Soon, this adorable little guy is going to be a big brother. Oh, what fun little L. is going to have teaching his baby brother the ropes! What a blessing for mommy and daddy! I know they are going to love having two boys!

ready, set, go…

I received an email today from a good friend sharing a fabulous offer courtesy of Oprah (yes, Oprah). The offer is for a FREE (don’t you like the sound of this already?) 20 page, 8×11 hard bound photo book from Snapfish. The idea is to take digital photos of your children’s artwork, upload them to Snapfish and they will send you back a bound book of their artwork. So, it’s time to grab that bin or binder of your kiddo’s masterpieces and start taking some pictures because the coupon dispersal ends on Friday, Novemener 14 for this offer and the free photo book must be redeemed by Sunday, November 16 at 11:59pm. Ok, so that doesn’t leave much time, but if you get snapping now, I know you can do it!  And, if you did this every year, you could build a beautiful library of your children’s artwork.

Get your FREE book!

Since we’re talking about masterpieces, I thought I’d share some snapshots (as we were heading running out the door) of some masterpieces from our home… my twins had to each design an island for school. A. created “manatee island” and M. created “fun island.” I think I’d like to visit both right about now!

On a side note, I will be out of the office starting Friday, Nov 14th and will be returning back on Tuesday, Nov 18th. All phone calls and emails will be returned on Tuesday. Have a wonderful weekend and happy picture taking!!!

home, sweet home

There is nothing like it. So, when a client suggests their home for their session, I don’t hesitate for a second. I truly enjoy going to my client’s homes, everyone is always so relaxed and comfortable (outfit changes are a breeze too!). This session was particular special because this beautiful family had just recently moved into their home. How perfect! What a wonderful morning it was getting to know the A. family.

I fell in love with little M.’s laugh the moment I heard her chuckle with her mommy, it was absolutely contagious!

I loved how M. could go from a serious look to a full on belly laugh in one second flat. So precious!!

Poor mom and dad, they got a workout that morning…

a tribute…

Today is Veterans Day, a day to thank and honor all those who served honorably in the military – in wartime or peacetime. It’s a day that I am particularly thankful and proud of my parents and grandparents for serving our country. It’s a day that I get excited to call my mom and dad to thank them for their sacrifices and efforts. It’s a day that I  jokingly like to remind my dad of the WORST haircut I have EVER received while my mom was away at Air Force reserves… just to get my first cabbage patch kid. My hair did eventually grow back, I did get my cabbage patch and my mom finally forgave my dad. Ha-Ha!! All joking aside, Mom and Dad, thank you and I love you!

Thank you and Happy Veterans Day to those who have severed in the military! Your contributions to our country are greatly appreciated!!!

Just wanted to share pieces of my family history…

merriment…

That’s been the overall theme around here recently. Lots of wonderful families, lots of laughs and tons of fun!! So much fun that I’ve started my holiday celebration a little early… I’ve recently been proofing my sessions while listening to the ELF soundtrack. My hubby thinks I’m nuts, but I’ve been waiting all year to bring it out! Who can resist Pennies From Heaven? Ok, back to the post and back to these cuties from some recent sessions…
