Mommy’s Arms

That’s where this adorable little guy wanted to be! I was actually thrilled because it gave me lots of opportunity to capture some special moments between “N” and his beautiful mommy, “L!” Watching them together absolutely melted my heart. I wanted to get home so I could pick up my little guys, who aren’t so little anymore, and squeeze them as tight as I could. At the session, “L” and I were talking about how quickly children change. She’s seen “N” change already in his short 3-1/2 weeks of life. So, take some time today to give your kiddos lots of love… cherish these moments because that is what life is all about!

O!

Little Miss “O”… what a doll!! We were able to spend some time out at the beach with her and her parents, who happen to be very dear (and patient) friends of ours and lucky for me, I was able to entertain the sweet and adorable “O” long enough to get some cute images…

Sisterhood…

…It’s an amazing thing and being able to spend an afternoon with these two, makes me feel truly blessed to be doing what I am doing. They’re 4 and 6, going on 16 and 18 and they are two of the sweetest, most beautiful girls you could ever meet!

This happens to be a personal favorite from the session… “The Staring Contest” We did a few of these during the session and I was always the first one out. I was behind the camera, cracking up the whole time. By the way, “Ms. D” on the right won this round…

Dog Days

I just finished up two big projects that I am very excited about, so I thought I’d take a minute for a fun little post. Yesterday morning everyone was up in the house and the boys and I realized that we were all wearing dog PJ’s! It was an exciting moment for us so early in the morning! So, I had to capture the memory with a quick picture before the PJ’s were added to the mounting pile of laundry waiting to be done.

I just loved this picture. Our feet in it and M’s reach behind my leg are my favorites. He always seems to add a little fun to the pictures he’s in (you should see their class picture)!! Silly kiddo!!

p.s. Happy Birthday, Kel! I hope you had a fabulous day! I love you! xoxo

Feel Good

As many of you know, I’ve recently got involved with a very special project celebrating childhood. Project Childhood has taken me on an amazing journey. I am so grateful for this experience and for my wonderful friends that have joined me on this journey!! Girls, I am truly thankful for your involvement!!

To participate in the project, photographers are asked to offer a free session to child, who normally wouldn’t be able to afford it, and then provide the parents with a free portrait from the session. The image must capture the essence of childhood. Photographers then donate the session fee to a children’s charity of their choice.

I’ve chosen the Alpha House of Tampa as my charity. The Alpha House of Tampa touches the lives of women and their children every year by providing a safe place to live, counseling and positive direction, and hope for a new future. Two weeks ago, my dear friend, Jess, and I had the honor of meeting six moms from the Alpha House and their amazingly adorable children. The connections between the moms and children would just melt your heart!! I’ve shared a few images from the sessions, but I hadn’t decided which image I was going to submit for Project Childhood. It wasn’t easy, but this happens to be one of my favorites and I truly feel that it captures the essence of childhood…

Met the adorable “Ms. C” and her colorful flowers, which she proudly picked by herself…

Here are a few other favorites from her session (I have to save some though because we’re delivering the photo albums and framed pictures to the moms next week and I want there to be some surprises)…

Here comes the rain…

We thought we were in the clear since it had rained ALL night, but no such luck. We were able to get in lots of shots though just before it started to come down once again! And then, we all made a fast getaway! Working with such a fun family and the mad dash from the rain, certainly made for a fun morning!!

This happens to be one of my favorite images from the session… three generations with both of the moms looking at their babies. It’s like my mom always says, no matter how old your child is, they will always be your baby! I remind my boys of this daily!
